VISION PORTFOLIO
"Stepping Stones"
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course creatively introduces a new learning environment
that explores the "Circle of Life" and what
that means to each individual. "Stepping Stones"
involves two unique components. The first component is preparing
a Vision Portfolio by the students, giving them a creative choice
in building their education. The second component is a "hands
-on" approach in designing a "visual blueprint"
from their portfolio using natural earthen materials. An actual
application of the visual blueprint will be displayed in community
(culverts) as a revivifying element in our neighborhoods.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. To prepare a portfolio of creative documentation designed
to provide the participant an expression of their vision using
the natural environment as a touchstone.
2. To prepare, collect and assess creative materials that pertain
to their own individual creative choices that best represent
the "circle of life" to them.
3. To analyze each student's background experience and visionary
goals in relation to the development of their vision.
4. Apply a portion of the completed portfolio using natural materials
to a living canvass in the community.
