CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Currently, Six Lessons with Delphi
is being used by teachers in Tucson, Arizona. Due to interest
in The Sanctuary School approach to education, we will develop
a pre-school and K-12 curriculum that teachers and parents will
be able to adopt or adapt for homeschooling, alternative schools,
public schools, private schools, after-school programs and community
education.
The first online Sanctuary School course to be released, "How
to Live Happily with All Life", is an eighteen lesson independent
study elective for children 9 to 12 years old. "How to Live
Happily with All Life" will be followed by an online independent
elective for teens. Both courses will emphasize community service,
humane education, environmental awareness and partnership with
all life. Details of both courses and enrollment information
will be posted on this web site by September 1, 2003.
We provide consultation services for parents, teachers and
curriculum developers who are interested in integrating a Sanctuary
School approach to education into their school, independent study
or learning programs. A Sanctuary School training program is
available for parents and teachers.
Students are welcome to contact us regarding learning together
through Sanctuary School courses and programs.
